The woods and waters around Mauston host a great variety of birds and animals, perfect for the avid nature lover, angler and hunter. The area boasts an abundance of wildlife, including a variety of rare and endangered plants and animals. Here you'll find the world's largest population of the endangered Karner blue butterfly, gray wolves, blanding turtles, and the Massasauga rattlesnake. There is also the largest concentration of whitetail deer in the Midwest, as well as black bears, raccoons, squirrels, ruffed grouse, pheasants and sandhill cranes. Birdlife includes bald eagles, hawks, grouse, turkeys, songbirds, herons, egrets, and thousands of migrating waterfowl. Lakes, rivers and streams are alive with brown, brook and rainbow trout, bass, panfish, walleye, northern, catfish and muskie. Castle Rock State Park, and many other local and state parks, provide camping, swimming, picnicking and plenty of scenic attractions for everyone to enjoy.

Phone call from my cousin:
I went to a Bastille Day Festival...there wasn't anything French.
Ha! I went to Fiesta Days, nothing Spanish about it. I did have excellent Chinese food, my date had a prime rib sandwich, we saw the retro band Kansas. They are kinda like the Eagles.
I just saw the Eagles!
We went to the carnival attached to the festival. I played the Fire Alarm game You shoot water at a bull's eye. I won. Now I have a giant bright red Scooby. My date spent his time walking behind me mumblings things about my ass. He lost.
Next time come with me to see the real Eagles.
Yes, I will.

Don't fret. Nothing is wrong. We have all lived in fantasyland for the last 4 years or so. Now the market is returning to some sort of reality. Hang on. Everything is okay.
