Today I woke up to two new things: one, a free boat. Okay, not free. One tossed into the bay by the storm. It is stuck between my shore station and the pier. And, two a pair of swans. They must have come into the bay to get away from the fierce winds. Swans mate for life. If the river stayed open for the winter they could spend a season here. But the river will freeze, as usual.

You can take a nothing week and make it all seem worthwhile. Two things helped immensely: 1.Sat night saw Furry Kerry and Fear of Sound 2. All week I have explored the possibilities of Glow-in-the-Dark nail polish. More experiments to come.

I went to view art two days before the attack. To bring myself back to pre 9.11.01 thinking, I revisited the same exhibit two days later. I thought the art held messages, a forewarning. But now I just think my glasses changed.

Cookie dough baked long and slow makes a soft cookie. The same dough cooked fast at a higher temperature makes a crisp cookie. I like the second one. New flavors are aroused by the intense heat, and the texture feels better in my mouth.
